Ferndale’s neighborhood “burger and a beer” spot is known for its locally-sourced, made-to-order menu, wide selection of microbrews and unique decor. The Emory is named after and inspired by Emory Johnston (1898-1963), a hard working farmer from the Toledo area and great grandfather to WAB/Emory/Loving Touch co-owner Chris Johnston. Hardwood that was harvested from family woods made its way into almost every part of the establishment – from the art piece behind the bar, to the benches and chairs to the window sills. Inspiration flows from the architecture right into the menu. Gourmet burgers, sausages and sandwiches, salads, hand-cut fries, mac & cheese, bruschetta-style pizzas and a killer weekend Brunch make The Emory what it is: unique and exceptional.
